Pembrey – Getting There

With most people having satnav, there’s little to be gained from various detailed directions. It is the final few miles where a little advise can be an aid to confidence.

Directions

The only approach to the circuit is via the A484, with the majority of “outsiders” coming from the South, so that route will be described here.

From A484, leaving Pembrey village

Distance 2.3 miles (3.7km). Approximately six minutes

  1. Continue on the A484 as you exit Pembrey.
  2. After 0.7 miles, turn left into the side-road. It is signposted Pembrey and Motor Sports Centre
  3. Go over the railway bridge. This is narrow, so be careful of oncoming traffic.
  4. Then turn Left into the service road, which has a large Pembrey Circuit Sign.
  5. Pass the circuit offices. At the chevrons, turn right and then left and go straight on.
  6. At the very end, you have to cross the circuit to get to the inner paddock and facilities.
If travelling via the north of the A484 then, starting from the roundabout on the outskirts of Gravells Kia Kidwelly, after 2.9 miles, turn right into the side-road signposted Pembrey and Motor Sports Centre. Then follow the above directions from Step 3.
Heading from Llanelli on the A484, turn left towards the circuit.
Go over the railway bridge. This is narrow, so be careful of oncoming traffic.
Then turn Left into the service road, which has a large Pembrey Circuit Sign.
Pass the circuit offices. At the chevrons, turn right and then left and go straight on.
It is quite a way to the circuit entrance.
At the very end, you have to cross the circuit to get to the inner paddock and facilities.

SatNav

Entering the post code into my satnav usually gets me there, but not always, so I also include GPS coordinates. What3Words are also an increasingly useful addition. I try to find a w3w location with at least one word that is related to motor racing; I also try to find short words.

I have also provided coordinates and What3Words for a position within the paddock. This could be useful as a meeting point for guests.
