National Configuration

As a minimum, each post should be visible to the marshals at the next post, in both directions. For example, Post 2 can see posts 1 and 3.

The green flag lap is a sighting lap and one of its intended uses is for the driver to learn the position of all manned posts.

Above is a map of the circuit, showing the marshal posts for this configuration. Below, they are described in more detail.

Note that the positions are a guideline only. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, there may be mistakes or updates since the guide was created. Any feedback is appreciated.

Marshal Post 1 Hatchet’s Hairpin
On the right, close to the apex. This post covers the hairpin through to Spitfires and is easily seen by looking slightly to the right.
Marshal Post 2: Dibeni
On the apex of Dibeni. On exiting Spitfires, it can be seen, to the left.
Marshal Post 3: The Crossing
On the inside, right, of the track. It is harder to spot, but it is set back and just before the start of the concrete apron (runway).
Marshal Post 4: The Esses
On straightening up from the previous corner’s left-hander, the post can be seen ahead, to the left. It is located opposite the next right-hander’s apex kerb.
Marshal Post 5: Brooklands Hairpin
On the outside of the track. Visually, it is straight on shortly after beginning the turn.
Marshal Post 6: Speedway Straight
On exiting Brooklands Hairpin, it is easily visible ahead, to the left.
Marshal Post 7: Woodlands
A little further than the gravel trap. Posts 11 and 12 are approximately equidistant from the end of the gravel trap.
Marshal Post 8: Honda
On passing the Woodlands marshal post, the next is visible directly ahead; visually it is in the middle of the track. It is on the outside of the circuit, opposite the start of the armco barrier that covers pit entry.
Marshal Post 9: The Gantry
When lining up on the grid for the start of the race, the starting lights should be visible to all. This is the same location as the marshal post. It is on the inside, right, of the circuit, just before the end of the armco barrier, the pit exit.

On the right, just after the tyre wall ends and the armco begins.

After taking the hairpin, there is a right-hander with an apex kerb. While at the end of the kerb, if the driver’s line is at least reasonable, the marshal post is visible directly ahead. It is opposite the next right-hander’s apex kerb.

On the outside of the track. Visually, it is straight on shortly after beginning the turn.
