Listed here are links to the circuit guides for the motor racing circuits and configurations of mainland Britain. PDF versions can be purchased via the Shop.

Also included are Quick Links, which are short cuts to pages, within each circuit guide, that are of interest to a specific type of person. These are: Getting There, for a first-time visitor; Marshal Posts, for the driver; Paddock Tour, describing all paddock facilities; and Spectating, for those who are looking for a good place to watch the racing. These are also available in PDF format via the Shop.

The guides are updated as new ideas present themselves. Please feel free to ask for extra sections, or even provide me with new or updated information.

I have raced on both configurations of the beautiful coastal circuit. I’ve also competed on the now extinct configuration and will provide historical information about that.

I have only ever driven on the Indy configuration at this Kentish circuit, so only that is detailed here. It is the closest race circuit to London.

I believe that only the full configuration of this Lincolnshire circuit is raced on, with the Club configuration used for track days and the racing school. I look forward to being corrected.

This very fast circuit is in the heart of Wiltshire. I believe that the organisers call themselves The Friendly Circuit. They are not wrong!

My club was the first to race on this North Yorkshire circuit. Previously, it was interesting with the occasional grassy covering. Now it is superb.

Not far from Derby and Leicester, this circuit saw the German Grand Prix legends in 1937 and a masterclass by Ayrton Senna in 1993. It doesn’t disappoint.

I've raced on this circuit once, way back in 2001. It's a great circuit and I look forward to finally returning to it in 2022.

This small Leicestershire circuit was closed due to local residents not liking racing cars, but it’s back. It is small, but perfectly formed and deserves our support.

Easily accessed via the M6, this Cheshire circuit is always a one-day event, as the locals don’t like Sunday drivers. I once raced here in the snow! Great fun.

I picked up my first win at this Carmarthenshire circuit; that’s South Wales to the English reprobates. It is a small circuit, but the welcome is huge. I love it here.

The home of the British Grand Prix. What a great circuit! What more can I say? Well, I could say how I get the impression that club racers are tolerated at best. I hate the venue, but at least I love the circuit.

This Hampshire circuit is the country’s fastest. It’s fairly safe too, with not much to hit, especially as the rabbit hole that helped a colleague to a nose-to-tail roll has been destroyed. Well done Michael. It is a fun drive.

Shop

Many of the guides are now available as a downloadable pdf. You can also purchase merchandise such as mouse mats, mugs and tee-shirts.

Downloadable PDFs

These are a copy of the website, presented in an A4 layout, thus allowing a visitor to print off a copy if desired. For each circuit, there are five pdfs available, with the first being a complete guide of all areas of that circuit, whereas the remaining four guides concentrate on specialised areas:

  • Complete Guide
The following four guides are all provided together in this one value-for-money guide. If you buy this, there is no need to purchase any additional guides for that circuit.
  • Marshal Post Guide
Details of where the marshal posts are on this circuit, along with how best to spot them. Includes maps and photographs. Each configuration is provided with its own guide.
  • Paddock Tour
A tour of the paddock facilities, along with pit access, grid details and more.
  • Spectator Guide
Details all the spectating points on the circuit, using a map to show each point, along with accompanying text and photographs.
  • Getting There
    Guides the visitor from nearby.

Merchandise

Merchandise is available from third-party retailers. Physical goods, such as mugs, coaster and tee-shirts are available from here, along with a couple of novels from this website’s creator. Please visit the separate page by clicking on the title or the image.

Why Create this Website?

The background to this website is that I am desperately disorganised, so much so that I am forced to compensate by, well, being organised. A good example is when I once presented my racewear for scrutineering, with three sets of clean underwear neatly packed into three plastic boxes. The assistant scrutineer commented that he had never seen anyone so organised, to which Keith, the championship’s regular scrutineer, burst out laughing (to be fair, so did I). Prior to such neatness, I’d present an incomplete mess and have to go off and find the rest. It was not unknown for me to purchase a balaclava or pair of fireproof socks to replace the forgotten items.

To further help myself, I created an “Information Pack”, which I painstakingly prepared for each meeting, and that is detailed below. What could possibly go wrong now? Well, I could forget to pack it! To counteract that, I put all the information onto my website, which allowed me to add more and more information and lay it all out logically. It morphed into this website, ukCircuits.net.

Information Pack

Prior to each race meeting I prepare an Information Pack that details every aspect of my impending visit. I print it all off, creating an A4 booklet. Most of that information is now available directly from this website, but other information relates specifically to that meeting, such as a timetable and any official notices.

I have provided a link to an example timetable and checklist, in case you are interested. I also include a link to a spreadsheet that I wrote that allows me to record lap times in order to monitor my progress. All other items of information can be found within this website, via the specific circuit’s guide.

The Information Pack includes everything I think I will need to make my life easier, including:

  • Timetable
Full timing details throughout the weekend, along with other key information, including circuit sat nav details, distance and journey time estimates and a summary of official requirements.
  • Circuit contact details, satnav coordinates, estimated journey times.
  • Motor Racing Checklist
An A4 sheet checklist of everything I need to pack.
  • Lap Times Spreadsheet
This allows me to record lap times, so that I can monitor my progress throughout the weekend. Statistics are provided showing my consistency or development, while specific laps can be excluded so that events (yellow flags, for example) do not skew the results.
  • Directions and Paddock
  • Marshal Post Positions
  • Corner Notes
  • Official Notices

The above links can be useful, probably with modification, to other competitors.
