With most people having satnav, there’s little to be gained from various detailed directions. It is the final few miles where a little advice can be an aid to confidence.

Anglesey circuit is, unsurprisingly based on the island of Anglesey. The expected route from Wales and mainland Britain is via the A55, crossing at the Britannia Bridge and staying on the A55 until the A4080.

Directions

Anglesey circuit is, unsurprisingly based on the island of Anglesey. The expected route from Wales and mainland Britain is via the A55, crossing at the Britannia Bridge and staying on the A55 until the A4080.

The directions, having crossed the Britannia Bridge, for the 19.1-mile thirty-minute journey, are now described.

1. The A55 drops from a dual to a single carriageway while traversing the Britannia Bridge and, once having crossed to the island, returns to a dual carriageway for the rest of the leg.

2. At Junction 5, the next leg begins by taking the exit for Aberffraw, A4080. On the slip road a chequered flag is shown on the brown tourist sign, indicating a first exit at the next roundabout.

3. Heading south, stay on the A4080 for 5.1 miles. Just after a bungalow another brown tourist sign directs the driver to the right.

4. This access road is narrow in places and is covered by speed bumps. There are also signs to beware of children, so take care.

5. Having passed the houses to the right, the circuit access is reached. Here, bear right

6. Stay on this road until you enter the paddock.

SatNav

Entering the post code into my satnav usually gets me there, but not always, so I also include GPS coordinates. What3Words are also an increasingly useful addition. I try to find a w3w location with at least one word that is related to motor racing; I also try to find short words.

I have also provided coordinates and What3Words for a position within the paddock. This could be useful as a meeting point for guests.

Coordinates

Coordinates are given in the three formats:

  • DMS: Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds
  • DD: Decimal degrees
  • What3Words
